Eric Hoffer Award: Excellence In Independent Publishing

Here's what the Eric Hoffer announcement said about The Quiet Roar of a Hummingbird:

"After our rigorous first round of judging, less than 10% of the titles become category finalists. We consider this a distinction of its own merit and select by category scoring. There are typically 1-6 books per category selected as a finalist. Finalists fall into approximately the upper 10% of all books that entered the contest."

On May 12, 2014, I learned that The Quiet Roar of a Hummingbird received a book award entitled, the  2014 Eric Hoffer Award Finalist. Hummingbird is now eligible to include this gold medallion on its cover.  Join me in celebrating; Hummingbird has taken wing!

Honored On MSNBC, Public Radio:

I'm happy to report that hostess Jennifer Rook and author Monica Wood discussed The Quiet Roar of a Hummingbird during MSNBC's December radio program, Calling Maine: The Best and Overlooked Books of 2013. Given that Hummingbird was released just seven weeks earlier, this author was delighted that Hummingbird found her wings in time to join this august list of books!

Tucson Festival of Books Award:
Hummingbird held her own against 550 entries in the Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards Contest. The Quiet Roar of a Hummingbird placed among the top contenders in the fiction category. In March, I'll travel to Tucson to participate in the festivities.  See you there!
